The Yemeni Women's Empowerment Foundation (YWEF) revealed that the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militias committed more than 40,000 violations against Yemeni women in different governorates during the time from 2015 to November 2025.
In a report learned by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the organization explained that the violations included 1901 cases of arrest and abduction of women and girls, comprising enforced disappearance, torture and inhuman treatment.
The report cited 2940 incidents of arrest, including 39 cases against which sentences were issued included death, imprisonment, confiscation and financial fines.
There were 2720 cases of killing as a result of indiscriminate shelling with rockets, shells and heavy weapons, 375 injuries as a result of direct sniping operations and 605 women were affected by landmines and explosive devices planted indiscriminately by the militiamen.
Moreover, the report documented 169 cases of killing relatives of women and girls up to the fourth degree, in a pattern of family violence with a doctrinal nature driven by incitement and 42 cases of rape documented inside detention facilities or during raids and displacement.
According to the report, 16,451 women were documented as having been arbitrarily dismissed from public jobs, and there were 14,800 cases of job replacement in which female employees were replaced by elements loyal to the militias.
