The Government welcomed the statement issued today, Wednesday, by the International Security Council in which it expressed its deep concern over the declaration of South self-rule by the so-called South Transitional Council (STC).
The council reaffirmed the International Community's strong commitment to the unity, sovereignty , independence and territorial integrity of Yemen. And it called for implementing Riyadh Agreement as soon as possible.
In a statement the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) received, the Foreign Ministry welcomed the Saudi Arabia's stances and all statements issued by sisterly and friendly countries that clearly voiced the urgency of return the situation in the interim capital Aden to the status of pre STC's declaration.
The Ministry stressed that it is very important for the STC to end its armed insurgency, repeal its unconstitutional declaration and come back to implement Riyadh Agreement and immediately stop any measures that may undermine the actions of the state's institution in the interim capital Aden; particularly in light of the difficult circumstances Aden has seen due to natural disasters of floods and coronavirus pandemic after five cases of infection detected .
