Minister al-Sharjabi discusses with Japanese diplomat water support

Minister of Water and Environment Tawfeeq al-Sharjabi discussed Monday with Charge D'Affairs of Japanese Embassy in Yemen Cazohiro Higachi resumption of Japanese support to water sector in Yemen, which has been damaged badly by Houthi militia's triggered war.

Minister al-Sharjabi confirmed significance of activating cooperation in field of water and implementing projects and making plans, praising Japanese support to Yemen.

He pointed out to the ministry's efforts exerted to overcome current challenges to meet increasingly demands of water and limiting consumption of water. He also pointed out to success of Japanese International Cooperation Agency in field of water supply in rural areas since 1977.

For his part, the Japanese diplomat confirmed continuation of his country's support to developmental projects in Yemen, pointing out to significance of resumption of training programs of capacity-building of water ministry's cadre to work on providing drinking water and alleviating suffering of Yemeni people.
