Helicopter Crashes While Fighting Wildfire in Utah

A helicopter crashed Saturday while taking part in firefighting efforts against a large wildfire in the U.S. state of Utah, with no immediate information available on the condition of the two people aboard.

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration said the helicopter crashed in the city of Richfield.

The wildfire, which was sparked by lightning on July 27, has spread across about 427 square kilometers and was 19 percent contained as of Friday.

The FAA said the National Transportation Safety Board and the agency will investigate the crash, but investigators may not be able to reach the site immediately if wildfires remain active nearby.
