Yemen's Ambassador to the United States Jamila Raja met with officials from the Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington (AGSIW) to discuss strengthening cooperation and the latest developments in Yemen and the region.

Ambassador Raja reviewed the escalation by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia, including its attacks on Saudi Arabia and commercial shipping in the Red Sea, reaffirming the Yemeni government's condemnation of actions that threaten regional security and freedom of international navigation.

She also outlined the government's ongoing economic and institutional reforms to strengthen state institutions, improve governance, and support recovery and stability.

The meeting also explored opportunities for cooperation through hosting Yemeni government officials at AGSIW events, organizing specialized dialogues on Yemen and regional affairs, and supporting the development of a new generation of researchers focused on Yemen.
