Foreign Ministers of OIC demand tough measures to stop Iran's support for Houthi militia

An extraordinary meeting of Foreign Ministers of member states of Organization of Islamic Cooperation convened on Sunday.
The gathering requested by Saudi Arabia Kingdom in order to take urgent measures to stop Houthi militia's attacks on the Saudi capital Riyadh.

Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jobair has made clear that Houthi militia's terrorist attacks on the Saudi Arabia Kingdom are flagrant violations of the OIC's Charter. He noted that Houthi militia has fired some 300 ballistic missiles out of which more than 90 missiles targeted cities and towns in the Kingdom including Holly Mecca.

Al-Jobair confirmed that Iranian regimes has continued to supply Houthi militia with weapons to carry out attacks against the Kingdom and target its crucial interests. He stressed that it is very important to stop these violations. He argued that it is our religious and moral duty to prevent such aggressions and hold those who provide Houthis with funds and equipments accountable for their actions and brand them as partner in the attacks on the sanctities".

The Saudi Foreign Minister said:" Saudi Arabia had provided $10.2 billion in aid to Yemen covered different developmental and humanitarian spheres, meanwhile the Iranian regime has embarked on sowing sectarian seditions among the Yemeni people and supplying Houthis with weapons to prolong the crisis".

Al-Jobair condemned Houthis violations in Yemen, citing that Houthis had intercepted above 85 ships boarding humanitarian assistance, more than food conveys and over 628 food shipments and as much as five thousands food baskets.

For his part, the Secretary General of OIC Yousif Al-Othaimin urged the participants in the meeting to adopt stern steps that can prevent criminal violations by Houthi militia against Yemeni people and Saudi Arabia Kingdom and security of navigation in the Red Sea.

Al-Othaimin denounced firing ballistic missiles by Houthi militia toward Saudi capital and Holly Mecca. He also stressed the importance to put the UN Security Council resolution 2216 into effect which is banning weapons supplies to Houthi militia
