VP briefs US Ambassador on efforts to counter coup and terrorism

Vice President Lt. Gen. Ali Mohsen Saleh has briefed the US Ambassador to Yemen, Matthew H. Tueller, on Yemen's struggles to counter the challenges of coup d'état and its catastrophic consequences; extremism; and terrorism in all its forms.
In a meeting with the ambassador Tueller in Riyadh Tuesday, the Vice President also made mention of Yemen's efforts to establish a federal state that protects its people and contributes to protecting the international peace and security.
He also gave the US diplomat an account on the latest developments including the efforts exerted in quest of achieving peace.
The Vice President emphasized the Yemeni political leadership's keenness to achieve a permanent peace based on the three peace references; the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue and the UNSC resolution no. 2216.
The US Ambassador renewed his country's commitment to Yemen's constitutional legitimacy and keenness for security and stability in Yemen.
The Vice President and the Ambassador also discussed the cooperation efforts for countering extremism, terrorism among issues of common concern.
