The Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), Governor of Hadramout governorate Salem al-Khanbashi met today, in the city of Mukalla, with the Security Advisor to the Director of the UN Department of Safety and Security George Torres.

The talks focused on securing UN staff and international organizations workers in the governorate, as well as ways to enhance security coordination to ensure their safe movements and the continued implementation of their humanitarian and development activities.

Al-Khanbashi confirmed keenness of the Local Authority on providing a safe and stable environment for the work of UN agencies and international organizations.

He said "The local authority is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for the UN agencies and international organizations as well as offering various forms of support and facilitation to enable them to carry out their humanitarian and development tasks".
