The Turkish national team reserved its place in the quarter-finals of the Euro 2024 after defeating its Austrian counterpart 2-1, in the match that brought them together at Leipzig Stadium in Germany at the end of the round of 16 matches.

The Turkish national team reached this round for the third time in its history after 2000 and 2008, after defender Merih Demral scored two goals in the 1st and 59th minutes, while Austria's Michael Gregoritsch scored in the 66th minute.
