The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Local Organizing Committee unveiled the official mascot for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, named "Asad" (Lion), embodying a symbol of African pride and passion for football.

In a statement, CAF said that "Asad" was inspired by the Atlas lion, one of Morocco's most prominent national symbols and a unifying and powerful figure across the continent.

The statement added that the name "Asad" signifies strength, pride, and cultural authenticity—values that resonate with fans in Morocco and throughout Africa.
