Presidential Decisions Bring Historic Gains for Yemeni Women

The recent republican decisions issued yesterday, Thursday, marked a new turning point in promoting the participation of Yemeni women in decision-making positions. The decisions included the appointment of Dr. Afrah Abdulaziz Al-Zouba as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, making her the first woman in the country's history to hold this sovereign portfolio. UN Yemen Sanctions Panel of Experts holds discussions with NCIAHV in Aden

The UN International Security Council Yemen Sanctions Panel of Experts held discussions today, Thursday, with the Headship of the National Committee for Investigations into Alleged Human Rights Violations (NCIAVHR) in the temporary capital Aden.

The conversations covered several topics relating to the cooperation between the two sides and information exchange about the significant issues pertaining Yemen.

The Chair of the NCIAVHR Judge Ahmed al-Maflahi noted that the Committee is working now on finalizing its 11th Report which is set to be released within upcoming weeks.

The Panel Experts' team put forward several questions about some violations into which the NCIAVHR investigated and the Panel Experts will incorporate them in its report which is set to be released next December.
