RIYADH-SABA
Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ahmad Awadh bin Mubarak discussed Monday with the Head of the International Organization for Migration in Yemen Christa Rottensteiner the disastrous situation of the displaced people in Marib and Houthi militia major violations against them.
He warned of dangerous repercussions of Houthi militia's escalation and aggression on Marib, which will endanger situations of the displaced persons and civilians in the province, which has witnessed displacement of more than 3000 families on September from Marib's southern districts.
He pointed out to horrific violations and revenge acts by killing and kidnapping civilians in al-Abdia District by Houthi militia, warning that turning a blend eye by the international community on such crimes encourages the militia to commit more violence and crimes against civilians, a matter complicates forcibly displacement of citizens.
He praised the role of the IOM of alleviating the tragic effects the displace people face, pointing out to importance of continuous activities of the organization in the transitional capital of Aden and other liberated provinces to tackle situations of the displaced people and refugees.
For her part, the head of IOM in Yemen reviewed some activities and plans of the organization in different parts in Yemen and its efforts to expand its programs to improve and protect displace people, thanking the government for its facilitations it provides to the organization.
