Minister of Oil and Minerals Dr. Saeed al-Shammasi and Governor of Hadhramawt Mabkhout bin Madhi discussed Sunday efforts to stabilize the supply of oil derivatives and secure the strategic storage of domestic gas in the governorate.
The meeting, which included concerned officials, addressed mechanisms to ensure the regular flow of oil derivatives and to develop the infrastructure for the strategic storage of domestic gas, in order to face any emergencies or bottlenecks in the supply.
It also covered plans to expand the current storage facilities, enhance the efficiency of the distribution network, and train technical staff to manage operational changes.
The meeting reviewed technical reports regarding the current capacity of strategic storage for domestic gas and oil derivatives, as well as planned development projects, including improvement of distribution stations and increasing the number of storage tanks.
Governor bin Madhi emphasized the importance of coordinating efforts among government entities to ensure market stability and meet citizens' needs, pointing out that achieving energy security is a priority for the province's development.
For his part, Minister al-Shamasi clarified that the ministry is working on increasing storage capacity and diversifying supply sources, expressing optimism about achieving a qualitative leap in the strategic storage of the oil and gas sector in Hadramawt in the upcoming period.
