Yemen participates in joint ministerial meeting between Arab countries and Pacific island countries
[12/06/2023 01:10]
Riyadh - Saba
Yemen participated in the second joint ministerial meeting between the Arab countries and the Pacific island countries, which was held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, with a delegation headed by Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Dr. Mansour Bagash.

The meeting aims to strengthen and develop relations between the Arab countries and the countries of the Pacific islands, and to coordinate positions on issues of common concern, most notably the issues of sustainable development and confronting climate change.

In the speech of the Republic of Yemen, Bagash said, "The coup of the terrorist Houthi militia on September 21, 2014 is the most prominent role in reversing the course of development in Yemen and the cause of the largest humanitarian disaster in the twenty-first century."

He explained that the statistics indicate more than 25 million Yemenis live below the poverty line, and despite this, the Yemeni government has worked hard with regional and international partners and the United Nations to seek to establish a just and lasting peace in Yemen, made concessions for the sake of the Yemeni people, and worked to maintain the truce, but the terrorist Houthi militia countered all of that by rejecting and insisting on the continuation of the war and the suffering of the Yemeni people.

He stressed the need to highlight the Palestinian issue as a central issue for the Arabs, stressing that the Palestinian issue will remain the core issue if the world wants to achieve justice and stability in the Middle East.
