Planning Minister calls on World Bank to increase support for Yemen

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Wa'id Badhib called on the World Bank (WB) Group to further increase its support for Yemen to help the government to handle the grassroots of food insecurity, energy and promote investment in the infrastructure.
He voiced his appeal today, Tuesday, as he contributed to a high-profile meeting brought together the President of the WB David Malpass with the Governors of Arab Central Banks at the WB's headquarters in Washington.
He also called on the International Finance Foundation to have greater role in exploring opportunities to develop private-owned businesses in Yemen.
Badhib welcomed the WB's decision about re-establishing its existence in Yemen namely in the temporary capital Aden.
