Yemen’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic Mohammed al-Hadhrami discussed Tuesday with Czech Parliament Speaker Tomio Okamura the latest developments in Yemen.

Al-Hadhrami called for European support for efforts to designate the Houthi militia as a terrorist organization and for increased humanitarian and development assistance to Yemen. He said the Houthis’ recent escalation serves Iran’s agenda, threatens international maritime security, and negatively affects global energy markets.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to deterring the Houthis and restoring state institutions, noting that doing so would help protect international shipping and stabilize global markets.

For his part, Okamura reaffirmed the Czech Republic’s support for Yemen’s security, stability and territorial integrity, expressing hope for peace in Yemen and the region.
