Yemen Participates in International Conference on Mine Action and Recovery
The Republic of Yemen participated in the International Conference on Innovations and Technology for Mine Action and Recovery, held in Tokyo, Japan. The conference was organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Presidential Council approves formation of security, military committee

The Presidential Leadership Council approved Monday formation of the Security and Military Committee entrusted with realizing security and stability and restructuring the armed and security forces in accordance with Article (5) for declaring power transfer in the country.

According to the article, a joint security and military committee will be formed to realize security and stability through adopting policies banning eruption of armed conflicts across Yemen, taking necessary steps to realize integration of armed forces under united leadership in accordance to the rule of law, ending split of armed forces and ending all armed conflicts.

The council agreed on forming the committee from 59 members presided by General Haitham Taher and Taher al-Aqili Vice President to Taher. General Hussain al-Hayyal is a member as Reporter.

The council also agreed on forming a committee to evaluate and restructure intelligence apparatus.
