GCC calls for enabling UN team inspect Safir Tanker

The Secretary General of Gulf Cooperation Council Nayef al-Hajraf has called for enabling UN expert team to examine Safir Oil Tanker floating on Yemeni coasts to avoid environmental disaster in the Red Sea.
The GCC's General Secretariat said in a release issued Tuesday that al-Hajraf met with UN Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths discussing with him latest developments in Yemen.
" Al-Hajraf confirmed in the meeting GCC's position on supporting ending Yemen's crisis through a political solution in accordance with the references; GCC Initiative and its executive mechanism, outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and UN Resolution 2216," the release added.
Al-Hajraf welcomed steps taken for implementing Riyadh Agreement and forming new government for realizing Yemeni people's aspirations, expressing appreciation to efforts of the UN envoy for ending Yemeni crisis in accordance with the three references.
