A meeting held Monday chaired by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation and Yemen’s Governor to the World Bank Dr. Afrah al-Zouba and attended by a high-level World Bank delegation led by the Bank’s Vice President for the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan and Pakistan Ousmane Dione discussed ways to enhance partnership and expand support across development, humanitarian, service, and economic sectors in the country.

National Commission of Inquiry meets UN delegation

The National Commission for Inquiry into allegations of human rights violations, headed by Judge Ahmed al-Muflahi, met in Aden on Tuesday the visiting UN delegation consisting of the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights Andrew Gilmour, chief of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) branch of the UN Human Rights Office Mohammad Ali Alnsour in addition to the Director of the OHCHR branch in Yemen Al-Obeid Ahmed Al-Obeid.

Al-Muflahi affirmed the Commission's readiness to cooperate with all United Nations bodies to ensure the protection of victims' rights.

He acquainted the delegation on the results of the Commission's recent field visits to a number of jails and interviewing of prisoners in different parts of the government-held territory to inspect the human rights situations.
