The Authority of Yemen's Scholars have denounced Houthi rebel militia of looting relief and humanitarian aid provided by brotherly countries, bodies and international organizations for helping Yemeni people, especially in Houthi-held areas.
In a release issued on Saturday, the authority said these crimes led to more deterioration of humanitarian situation, especially after stopping paying salaries of hundreds of thousands of government employees nearly two years ago by the militia.
The release also denounced selling relief in black markets by Houthis for financing their war against the Yemeni people.
The authority denounced hindering needy people access to humanitarian assistances in the areas under their siege in Taiz and their practices of blocking the arrival of relief via terrifying and torturing employees in relief organizations and interferences of choosing beneficiaries of these aid and the eligible areas.
The scholars of Yemen expressed their astonishment of silence of some international organizations and bodies over Houthi practices of looting huge quantities of aid, banning their distribution to needy people and using them for financing their war on people.
