Vienna-Saba
The Republic of Yemen reiterated its absolute rejection of the use of its territory as a platform to threaten international navigation in the Red Sea and regional and international security.
It stressed that this necessitates sustained support for the Yemeni state, as it is the sole guarantor of security and stability.
Yemen's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Vienna, Haytham Shoja'aadin affirmed in his address to the meetings of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that Iran's continued support for cross-border militias constitutes a direct threat to peace and security in the region.
Ambassador Shoja'aadin also reiterated Yemen's condemnation of the Iranian attacks targeting the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Jordan, as well as the attacks on the Barakah nuclear power plant in the United Arab Emirates.
He emphasized that these actions constitute a threat to the countries and peoples of the region and a violation of the IAEA Statute and the resolutions of its General Conference concerning the protection of peaceful nuclear facilities.
He affirmed Yemen's unwavering solidarity with its brotherly Arab states and their peoples, and its full support for all measures they take to protect their national security, sovereignty, and stability.
He warned against Iran's destabilizing activities in the region, which threaten regional security, international maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and global economic stability.
He pointed to Iran's continued funding, arming, and mobilization of its affiliated militias, most notably the Houthi terrorist militias, which operate outside the framework of the state and adopt an extremist ideology that contradicts the principles of national sovereignty and regional and international stability.
