Fatah urges establishing emergency committees

Minister of Local Administration—Chairman of Supreme Relief Committee—Abdulraqeeb Fatah ordered the governors of the coastal provinces to set-up emergency committees in order to cope with the potential risks as a result of the heavy rain falls and floods.

In statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) Fatah called on the UN Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen Liza Grande to coordinate with the UN relief and humanitarian agencies operating in Yemen and with the legitimate government to offer the necessary aids and dispatch relief, medical and humanitarian teams to help the people in the vulnerable areas.

Fatah also called on the Assistant of the UN Secretary General for Humanitarian and Relief Affairs Mark Lockock to urge the concerned agencies to monitor the Yemeni coastal regions, assess the situations and take necessary precautions.
