State Minister for Displacement and Irregular Migration Waleed al-Abara met in Aden with Danish Refugee Council representative in Yemen Hisham Ahmed to discuss strengthening cooperation and coordination on displacement and irregular migration.

Al-Abara outlined government priorities, including plans to establish a higher national committee on irregular migration and improve coordination with international partners. He also reviewed the humanitarian situation of displaced people in Aden, Taiz, Lahj and Abyan amid the Houthi militia’s escalation.

Ahmed outlined the council’s programs in economic recovery, mine action, sanitation and camp construction, noting its direct cooperation with the Executive Unit for Displaced Camps in Lahj.
