MARIB – SABA
Presidential Leadership Council member and Governor of Marib, Sultan al-Arada, conducted an inspection visit Saturday to the Marib International Airport project to review the level of progress and the ongoing construction works on the runway, terminals, and service and administrative buildings affiliated with the airport.
During the visit, al-Arada listened to project officials and supervising engineers, who provided a detailed explanation of the implementation stages, completion rates across various components of the project, the difficulties and challenges impacting the workflow, and the scheduled timelines for completing the works in accordance with approved technical specifications.
The Presidential Leadership Council member toured several airport facilities and reviewed the completed works on the runway, terminals, and operational and service buildings, praising the efforts made by the engineering and technical teams and all workers involved in the project.
In a statement during the visit, Sultan al-Arada said:
“We came today to inspect the progress of the work in the Marib International Airport project. Thank God, we have witnessed significant progress in the various construction and technical works. As we saw today, the project has reached an important stage, and many construction works are nearing completion. This reflects the scale of the efforts made by the implementing authorities and the engineering teams working on the project.”
“During the visit, we received a briefing from the supervising engineers, and one of the things that pleased us most was that they started from where others left off, whether in terms of technical equipment, machinery, or the basic facilities required for operating the airport," he said.
" This will contribute to accelerating the completion of the project and preparing it in accordance with the necessary technical standards and requirements.”
Al-Arada affirmed that Marib International Airport represents, first and foremost, a service-oriented and humanitarian project, in addition to its important role in supporting development, investment, and stability.
He noted that airports are among the most important infrastructure facilities that serve people and facilitate citizens’ movement and travel.
He stressed the need to complete the remaining works as quickly as possible so that the airport can begin carrying out its role and serving citizens from across the Republic, emphasizing that airports are not intended to serve a particular governorate or region alone, but rather represent a national and humanitarian service benefiting all citizens wherever they are.
Their primary purpose remains serving people and alleviating their hardships.
