Yemen’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Amin Noman, met Thursday in interim capital Aden with Libya’s ambassador Idris Abubakr and Somalia’s envoy Abdulhakim Ahmed to discuss boosting academic cooperation.
With Libya’s ambassador, talks covered historical ties and a draft MoU on higher education aimed at broadening partnership, exchanging expertise, and coordinating at international academic forums.
Noman stressed the need for academic visits and easing cultural and scientific exchanges to upgrade education and research.
Abubakr said Libya wants stronger academic links serving mutual interests.
With Somalia’s envoy, Noman discussed building bilateral higher education ties, reviewing historic bonds and affirming coordination on education and development.
They addressed Somali students in Yemeni universities; Noman offered to expand joint programs and cooperation on higher education and research meeting both countries’ aspirations.
