Syria and Lebanon defeat Pakistan and Brunei in 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers

The Syrian national team defeated Pakistan 2-0 in the first round of Group E of the qualifiers for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, which will be held in Saudi Arabia.

Ahmed Faqa scored both goals for Syria in the 23rd minute of the first half, while Omar Al-Somah added the second goal in the 56th minute of the second half of the match, which was held at Prince Abdullah bin Jalawi Sports City Stadium in Saudi Arabia.

In another match, the Lebanese national team defeated Brunei 5-0 in the Qatari capital, Doha, in the first round of Group B matches in the 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers

Lebanon's goals were scored by Malek Fakhro in the 5th and 27th minutes, Sami Merhej in the 21st minute, Hussein Shukroun in the 32nd minute, and Mohammed Haidar in the 90th minute. Lebanon now tops Group B with three points, while Brunei finished last with no points.
