African Development Bank awards Somalia $18 million

The African Development Bank (AfDB) awarded today, Tuesday, the Federal Government of Somalia $18 million to respond to disasters caused by climate change.
According to the Somali National News Agency (SONNA), the financial support agreement was signed by Finance Minister Bihi Iman and AfDB's Vice President Dr. Beth Dunford on the sidelines of the AfDB Group's annual meetings held in Nairobi, Kenya.
The Somali minister stressed the importance of this financial agreement to support Somalia at this time when the world is witnessing climate change, in addition to cooperation with the African Development Bank.
