Al-Alimi orders gov't to promptly intervene to mitigate climate change effects in Mahrah

Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi has phone called the Governor of Mahrah Mohammed Ali Yasser to check on the situations in Mahrah governorate, in the aftermath of torrential rains that lasted for days, as a result of air depression.
Al-Alimi was briefed by the governor on the damages incurred on public and private properties including farms, roads, and infrastructure, and on supply of public services in the city of Al-Ghaydah and other parts of Mahrah.
He was also briefed on the coordinated response between the competent authorities and regional and international organizations.
He praised those efforts issued directives to Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak to assign the Ministry of Public Works and other competed governmental agencies to intervene promptly to clear clogged roads and resume operation of basic services, and rehabilitation of damaged infrastructure.
