His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) convened a meeting today, Monday, included Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ahmed BinMubarak, Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen (CBY) Ahmed Ghalib and Ministers of Information, Culture and Tourism Muammer al-Eryani and Finance Salim Bin Bureik.
The session aimed to discuss topical issues in the areas of economy, politics, finance and media as well as regional developments and their implications at different levels.
The meeting reviewed reports about the outcomes of the economic, financial and institutional reforms over the past year and the prospects to further boost the monetary and financial stability, improve the state's access to its public resources and go on its comprehensive reforms that are backed by regional and international community.
The Prime Minister, Governor of the CBY and Finance Minister provided presentation about the current economic status and the measures taken by the government to alleviate the humanitarian crisis caused by the Iranian regime-allied Houthi militias.
The Chairman of the PLC commended the efforts of the government and the CBY that helped the state to fulfill its obligations.
He highly praised the substantial support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to sustain the state's general budget and oil derivatives that proved very helpful to handle the major financial challenges created by the Houthis' terrorist attacks on oil facilities and international maritime shipping lanes.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism provided briefing about the repercussions correlated to Houthi militias' terrorist threats to the safety of maritime navigation and proposed policies to manage the crisis at the diplomatic and media discourse levels.
The meeting reiterated the commitment of the PLC and the government to the Yemeni principal stance in support of the Palestinian people's legitimate rights, first of all to resist the Israeli occupation and to establish its independent national state of full sovereignty.
The meeting stressed that it is very necessary for the international community to support the Yemeni government to take control over the entire Yemeni soil.
It also called on the international community to initiate immediately to designate the Houthi militia as a "terrorist group" and to pressure it to earnestly engage in the de-escalation efforts and the establishing of security, stability and peace in Yemen.
