Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation called today, Tuesday, on all international and regional organizations operate in humanitarian and relief actions in Yemen to support the government's ongoing efforts to manage the consequences of the natural disaster caused by the cyclone "Tej" which swept the governorate of al-Mahra, resulted in huge material damages in the public and private-owned properties and displacement of hundreds of the families and persons.
The Ministry issued an appeal for regional and international relief organizations learned by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) in which it described the situation in al-Mahra governorate as disastrous while the Socotra governorate and Hadramout coast have been largely affected by the consequences of the cyclone that is risking the growing of health and environmental threats where pandemics can spread quickly.
The Ministry appealed to all partners to respond swiftly, provide the urgently needed relief aids to save the lives of the affected people, prevent the spread of the diseases and epidemics, particularly amid current tough circumstances Yemen has been experiencing.
The Ministry confirmed that its leadership and all teams are ready to provide all necessary facilitations to enable relief organizations easily access to the people in needs and delivery the urgently need humanitarian and relief aids. To this end a Unit of Operation was created to receive the contacts and offer the necessary facilitations in this regard.
