Parliament Presidency holds meeting on latest developments

Parliament Presidency Panel held Saturday a meeting presided over by Parliament Speaker Sheikh Sultan al-Barakani discussing current situations in the country.

The panel discussed a report presented by the Parliament Facts-Finding Committee on violations in sectors of electricity, oil, telecommunications and financial domains.

The meeting discussed deteriorated economic, financial, livelihood and service conditions and their impacts on the life of the people.

The meeting also discussed latest political developments and efforts aiming at realizing inclusive and just peace in accordance with the three references agreed upon internationally; the GCC Initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and Security Council Resolution 2216.

The meeting stressed importance of the international community's role to commit Houthi terrorist militia to resort to peace and stop its military escalation and killing Yemeni people, confirming that failure of taking serious measures has encouraged Houthi militia to continue its stubbornness, rejecting all peace initiatives and continuing killing and destruction.

The Parliament Presidency Panel reviewed the report presented by the Parliament's committee on violations in fields of electricity, telecommunications, financial domains and included remarks and recommendations.

The Parliament directed the government to correct mistakes included in the report and implement the included recommendations and report to the parliament on the taken measures within two weeks.
