Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, along with Members of the Council Sultan al-Eradah and Othman Mujally, received Tuesday here US Envoy for Yemen Tim Lenderking and US Ambassador Stephen Fagen.
The meeting tackled latest developments in Yemen and efforts of reviving peace process under stubbornness of Iran-backed Houthi militia.
The president and his deputies were briefed by the UN Envoy on his recent communications and available choices to push Houthi militia to seriously interact with reginal and international efforts to end suffering of Yemeni people.
President expressed deep condolences to the United States on victims of fires hit Hawaii State, hoping safety to the missing people and recovery to the injured.
President al-Alimi renewed commitment of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government of just peace in accordance with the locally, regionally and internationally agreed upon references, pointing out to significance of integrating all efforts with efforts of Saudi Arabia to renew the truce and releasing inclusive political process under the patronage of the United Nations.
This time is the suitable time to put utmost pressure to put an end to Houthi militia's crimes and major violences to human rights, including hindering all initiatives to provide salaries of employees in the areas under its control, said President al-Alimi.
He warned against repercussions of exchanging interests between Houthi militia and other terrorist organizations on peace chances in Yemen, confirming significance of integration of all efforts to face this dangerous threat to international security and peace.
He praised successful international task of ending danger of Safir Tanker, confirming necessity of speeding up selling the crude oil to avoid facing new environmental disaster.
For his part, the UN envoy praised the responsible approach of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government of Yemen in interacting with peace efforts and alleviating suffering of the worse humanitarian crisis in the world.
He also praised support and facilitations provided by the government to end danger of Safir Tanker saying; unless the government's support, international community would not have been able to avoid the looming environmental disaster.
