Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi met today, Thursday, with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom (UK) to the Republic of Yemen Richard Oppenheim.

The session aimed to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries, regional and international efforts to alleviate the humanitarian suffering, revive the political process in Yemen.

The conversations touched upon the latest developments in Yemen in light of the ongoing efforts to reach peace, end the war.
Dr. al-Alim reiterated the keenness of the Presidential Leadership Council to achieve fair and comprehensive peace that based on the three terms of peace references to end the war, restore the State's institutions.

He cited the government's initiatives to alleviate the humanitarian suffering including the salaries of the government's employees, open the roads and release all detainees and abductees.

Dr. al-Alimi praised the UK's support for the Yemeni people and its struggle for restoring the State's institutions, security and stability.

The British Ambassador affirmed his country's position toward the Yemeni file, its support for the efforts aiming to reach an inclusive political settlement in Yemen.
