Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism expressed the Yemeni government's appreciation for the UNESCO's significant support for culture in Yemen.

As he met today, Sunday, here with the Assistant Director-General for Culture Mr. Ernesto Ottone, he deeply appreciated the UNESCO's projects and efforts to preserve Yemen's cultural heritage and antiquities which also helped created job opportunities for nearly 5000 young men and women in through the work of restoration projects to rescue and preserve more than 400 historical buildings over the recent years.

The Minister also highlighted the need for the UNESCO's assistance to help training the Yemeni cadres in charge of preserving cultural heritage, offering technical consultancies and establishing units to fight artifacts trafficking.

Al-Eryani also called on the UNESCO to have a role in mounting pressures upon Houthi militias to release the Yemeni journalists, activists and the artist Entissar al-Hamadi who have been detained by Houthi militias.
