The Republic of Yemen has viewed the Houthi militia's intransigence and foot-dragging policy about the implementation of its obligations under the UN-sponsored Sweden Agreement since reaching the deal in December last year is undisputable proof that the rebel militia has never been seriously seeking for peace.

Yemen seeks help against politicized UN human rights report
[22/09/2019 06:54]

GENEVA - SABA
Yemen has asked a number of countries to help it in "rejecting the politicized UN human rights report" that the Group of Imminent Experts, formed by the UNHRC, issued earlier this month.

The report claimed that "the governments of Yemen and the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, as well as the Houthis and affiliated popular committees have enjoyed a “pervasive lack of accountability” for violations of international humanitarian and human rights law."

Meeting the ambassadors of Togo, Fiji, Afghanistan and Nigeria to the United Nations in Geneva on the sidelines of the 42nd session of the UNHRC, Yemen's Human Rights Minister Mohamed called on them to "stand with Yemen as it rejects the politicization of human rights matters."

Yemen said the report stands Yemen's facts on head attributing the human rights abuses to the government and sort of downplaying the horrific atrocities of the terrorist Houthi organization.

On their part, the ambassadors affirmed their willingness to stand united with Yemen against any politicization of the country's human rights dossier at the expense of the Yemeni people.
