President praises UK positions supporting Yemen
[27/08/2019 01:43]

President Abd-Rabbo Mansour Hadi received Tuesday UK Secretary for Middle East and North Africa's Affairs Andrew Morrison discussing with him a number of common concern issues, including situations in Yemen and peace efforts.

President Hadi reviewed the real situation in Yemen, including repercussions of recent rebellion incidents Aden and neighboring provinces have witnessed.

"We were keen in the inclusive National Dialogue Conference of taking care of all national issues and gave Southern Issue special position via a number of points and articles which included the core of the issue and interests of the citizen, his rights and aspirations in the new federal Yemen," said President.

He valued UK's positions supporting Yemen, its legality, unity and national principles, confirming that those positions were not strange from the UK, which has other firm positions towards fateful issues and supporting the dialogue and the transitional in Yemen.

President touched upon different peace stations in which the government made many concessions for the sake of peace and avoiding Yemeni bloodshed based on the three references; finalizing Gulf Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and UN related resolutions led by Resolution 2216.

For his part, the UK official expressed his pleasure for meeting with President, praising efforts exerted by the president for the interest of the Yemeni people.

"The UK's position is clear and frank in supporting legality of President Abd-Rabbo Mansour Hadi and Yemen's unity, security and stability," said the British minister, who confirmed that they will send this message to all.

We are looking forward to moving forward peace process in Yemen, said Morrison.
