The Ministry of Defense and the Military Staff have announced that the national army- supported by security forces- deterred last Wednesday Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia's attack on state's civil and military institutions in Ataq City, the capital of Shabwa.
The attack has been a continuation to armed rebellion of the STC's militia in Aden and Abyan.
In a release issued Saturday, the ministry made it clear that the local authority in Shabwa did its best to avoid confrontations in response to appeasement call by Saudi Arabia but the rebelled militia proceeded with its agenda and military escalation.
The army- embarked on its constitutional responsibility- deterred the rebellion during the past two days and completely controlled Ataq City and cleansed all state institutions and camps, said the ministry.
The ministry of defense confirmed that it examined rebel militia's mobilization of its elements from different provinces to repeat its attempt in several cities with military, logistic and financial support from the United Arab Emirates despite government's call in the Security Council for stopping UAE support threatening Yemen and unity and stability.
It also confirmed that the national army will deter strongly the STC's agenda, damages Yemen's supreme interests and does not serve interest of the Arab Coalition's goal for reinstating legality and protecting Yemen's unity and safety.
The armed rebellion will not deviate away the ministry's basic path of fighting Iranian agenda and Houthi militia, the release went on.
"We are with our brothers in the Saudi-led Coalition in one front liking us joint blood, history, Faith and united destiny," said the ministry.
