Foreign Ministers of Arab and African states overlooking the Red Sea and theGulf of Aden have agreed on significance of formation an alliance for coordination and cooperation between them in political, economic, cultural, environment and security fields.

A release issued after the meeting for Arab and African Foreign Ministers held on Wednesday in Riyadh confirmed that a forthcoming meeting will be held in Cairo for senior officials for tackling details on the nature of the alliance and that today's meeting came in response to Saudi Arabia's call embarking on the meeting held in Cairo on December 11, 12, 2017.

The release made it clear that the announcement on an alliance reflects joint will on boosting political, economic and security cooperation between Arab and African countries overlooking the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden and efforts for realizing their joint interests and strengthening regional and international security and stability in terms of the significance of the this international track to Arab and African countries and the responsibility of these countries on providing security and safety to this waterway.

audi Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubair, Egyptian Foreign Minister SamehShukri and Sudanese Foreign Minister al-Dirdiri Mohammad led the meeting of Arab and African Foreign Ministers and officials.
