Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Ibtihaj al-Kamal discussed with the delegation of the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) on Thursday preparations for carrying out a campaign to end violence against woman to be launched on the 25th of this November.
Under the motto of "Enabling Woman Economically and Family Peace" the campaign lasts for 16 days.
Al-Kamal discussed with the delegation suffering of woman and cases of violence she is subjected to by the Houthi militia, especially in their held areas, noting that woman's condition in those areas is catastrophic.
She made it clear that great number of women in those areas faces violence, displacement and deprivation of health care and great number of those women are pregnant and are vulnerable to many diseases after the militia has neglected health projects and disturbed activities of international organizations working in health field.
She urged concerned organization to exert more efforts for helping woman and taking necessary measures for enabling woman to get health care and basic services, confirming that the government welcomes activities of organizations in this field.
She touched upon future cooperation plans with the fund, confirming that her ministry exerts huge efforts for enabling woman.
