Teachers obtained 30% salary increase ordered by President of the Republic Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi. The salary increase for Ministry of Education's staffs approved in a meeting Sunday chaired by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior Eng. Ahmed Almayssari. The 30% shall be exceptionally paid from next Thursday.

The meeting decided to set up joint committee included officials from Ministries of Education, Finance, Civil Service and representatives of Teachers Trade Unions. The committee is tasked with looking into the teachers' demands, making decisions about and submitting suggestions to the prime minister and political leadership to take necessary measures about.

The meeting decided that the strike which suggested by the Teachers Association shall be suspended until the committee get its mission accomplished within one month.

The meeting aimed to discuss the implications of the teachers' planned strike which to be carried out in the temporary capital Aden and surrounding provinces in response to a call by the teachers' Trade Union.

The meeting included Minister of Education Dr Abdullah Lamlas, Deputy Minister of Finance Dr Mansour Al-Betani, Deputy Minister of Civil Service Dr Abdullah Almayssari, Secretary General of Local Council in Aden Badr Moawin, President of Trade Unions and representatives of the General Association of Educational professions in the government-held provinces.
