Yemen's Ambassador to Jakarta Dr. Abdulghani al-Shamiri discussed on Monday with the Head of Middle East Department at the Indonesian Foreign Ministry historical relations between the two countries.

Al-Shamiri reviewed latest developments on Yemeni arena and the government's efforts for realizing peace based on the three references; the GCC Initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and UN Resolution 2216.

He confirmed Yemen's support to efforts of the UN envoy for realizing peace based on these references, pointing out that any settlement does not fit the references will be only another station of suffering faced by our people over Houthi coup.

He pointed out that the government's decision for liberating Hodeida City and Port from Houthi militia came after depleting all peaceful solutions for protecting the international navigation in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandeb Strait against Houthi aggressions and stopping smuggling of weapon and Iranian rockets.

He noted to continuous violations to rules of the international navigation in the Red Sea by Houthis and their repeated attacks on trade and humanitarian ships crossing the international strait, the recent one was targeting Saudi oil tanker.

Al-Shamiri expressed Yemen's appreciation to Indonesian government for supporting legality for regaining the rule of law.

For his part, the Indonesian diplomat renewed his country government's support to legality and to security, stability and unity of Yemen and his country's support to peaceful solution based on the three references.

He extended invitation to Yemeni businessmen to participate in the trade show to be held next October, pointing out that a meeting will be held between the businessmen of the two countries for exploring trade cooperation.
