Council of Ministers held its weekly meeting Thursday presided over by Prime Minister Dr Ahmed Obeid Bin-Dagher.

Political, security, economic, managerial and services topics were elaborately discussed.

The Prime Minister briefed the Cabinet on the UN's envoy's visit to Aden and outcomes of his meeting with President Abd-Rabu Mansour Hadi.

Dr Bin-Dagher reiterated the Government's support for the efforts have been exerted by the UN' special envoy to achieve a comprehensive and fair peace based on the GCC's Initiative, its operational plan, National Dialogue's outcomes and International Security Council resolution 2216.

" Giving in weapons, militia's withdrawal and reinstating the official authority around the country is the shortest way to peace", said Bin-Dagher.

He added" Houthi putschist militia has turned Hodeidah seaport to into a military base and conduit to weapons and ballistic missiles smuggling to threaten national, regional and international security, this actually has helped prolonging the war".

The Prime Minister urged the Cabinet's members to carry out President Hadi's instructions that all government's institutions should be reinstated and all government's officials must return to the interim capital Aden and government- held regions.

The Cabinet heard a report by the Deputy Premier, Minister of Interior about his visit to the United Arab Emirates. His report also touched upon the Ministry's efforts aiming to reestablish security and stability.

The Council of Ministers also heard the Government's report about achievements made by the government in 2017.

The Cabinet has set up a committee included ministers of Oil, Finance, Transport, Fishery, Central Organization for Controlling and Auditing, Aden Refinery Corporation.

The committee is tasked with taking legal procedures to get rid of the old ships owned by Aden Refinery, which are about to sink down in the main marine route of Aden seaport.

The Cabinet has approved to re-locate major "Funds" in the interim capital Aden and make necessary arrangements to make that in place in coordination with the concerned Ministries. Funds, refers to Governmental institutions such as Pensions Fund, Social Development Fund.
