[18/06/2018 02:59]
ADEN-SABA
President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi and Prime Minister Ahmed bin-Daghr launched today a package of telecommunication projects in the temporary capital that include national providers of phone call, internet service provides and a telecom control center.

The USD 100 million project will include all the accompanying facilities and will be run by Yemeni staff.

Bin-Daghr thanked President Hadi's constant interest in and follow-up on the project until its implementation. "Your Excellency President Hadi, we are celebrating with you the inauguration of the most important telecom project in Yemen, which is another step towards building the federal Yemen and ending the monopoly on telecommunications and embezzlement (of its revenues) by the Houthi coupists," he said in an address during the inauguration ceremony.

He said there will be two other telecom gateways in Mukalla and Hodeidah city which the army is now advancing to liberate it from the rebels' control. He said the project will be available to Yemenis across the country and its revenues will go to the state budget.

He said that the project's implementation generated hundreds of jobs and now will create new jobs. "It is a big transformation in the telecom sector," he said. He thanked the Arab Coalition for providing the security conditions that made it possible to have the project implemented.

He vowed that more projects in the field of electricity will be opened.
