Vice President (Lt Gent) Ali Mohssen Saleh received Wednesday the British ambassador to our country Michael Aron.

The meeting aimed to discuss the good offices aiming to establish peace in our country.

The Vice President briefed the British diplomat on the latest developments in Yemen, military advancements the government's troops have gained in several fronts and underway efforts aiming to reinstate the State's authorities, basic services and re-normalize the situations in the government-held regions.

(Lt Gen) Mohssen appreciated the UK's support for the constitutional legitimacy and Yemeni people, maintaining the unity, security, stability and sovereignty of Yemen. He also thanked the British government for training the Yemeni Coast Guards and Navy personnel.

The Vice President has reaffirmed the Yemeni government's support for the UN envoy's efforts aiming to establish peace in Yemen based on the three terms of references: GCC's Initiative, its executive mechanism, outcomes of the National Dialogue and UNSCRs, mainly 2216.

Mohssen blamed Iran's spoiler scheme for destabilizing Yemen and several parts of the region.

The British ambassador reiterated his country's support for the legitimate leadership. He stated that the UK is keen to stop bloodshed in Yemen, reach settlement to put an end of current crisis.
