ADEN-SABA
Deputy Premier, Foreign Minister Abdulmalik Al-Mekhlafi declared that missiles fired on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) whilst the UN's is still in Sana'a is a clear message to the world that these militias don't want to come to peace and they are unwilling to meet its requirements.
In statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the Foreign Minister said:" Whenever it appeared to the world that Yemen may move forward toward peace, restoring the State, re-establish security and stability, and the Yemeni government respond positively to the international efforts and good offices, Iran insinuates to its client Houthi militias in Yemen to fire its missiles to destroy any chance for peace".
Al-Mekhlafi noted that" a European delegation included several ambassadors went on a visit to Sana'a. They have come to realize what we had already told them: Houthi group doesn't understand the meaning of peace, they would misunderstand your trip in a way that further embolden the militia to keep on its crimes. We do believe that the escalation by the militia following the ambassadors visit has proved we're right".
Al-Mekhalfi stated that it is not the first time the Houthis are foiling the good offices aiming to make peace. He said: "The fact is that every time it seems to be there a glimpse of hope for peace, Iranian missiles always dash such hope, it did so four times earlier, .. that used to happen following the UN's envoy meetings with the Yemeni government and its support for his peace proposals".
Al-Mekhlafi added" Houthis as they voiced their opinions to the European delegation, who were shocked, are arguing that there is no problem in Yemen, it is just an external aggression they're going to handle it by firing missiles… they mistakenly believe the brethren in the KSA will have to succumb to their extorting.. they do forget that the entire world views the core problem that Houthis are the putschists and the aggressors on the Yemeni people.
The Foreign Minister demanded a firm stance by the international community toward the Houthi rebels and their backers: Iran.
Al-Mekhlafi indicated that the Yemeni government's stance is made clear in its statement about firing missiles by Houthis against the Saudi territories. The government identifies Houthi phenomena and attaches it to Iran's attempts to obstruct the peace prospects. The government also singled out what the international community need to do".
