Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mohammad al-Sa'adi, Minister of Public Works and Roads, Muaeen Abdulmalik and Governor of Aden Abdul-Aziz al-Muflihi launched Tuesday the first phase of Reconstruction of Damaged Houses Project here.

The work of the project has been kicked off from Towahi District, where houses and other houses and buildings across Aden were destroyed by the war waged by Houthi-Saleh's militias on Aden in 2015.

The project includes three phases and covers 12 thousand houses across Aden governorate with the total cost of YR 20.7 billion, two USD millions are contributed by the Arab Fund for Economic Development.

Governor al-Muflih signed with representatives of the companies, which will carry out the project, the contracts of the project. The first phase of the project targets the districts of Towahi, Sira and Muall'a with the cost of YR. 5.8 billion.

While the work of the first phase is expected during the forthcoming days, the second phase of the project includes Khor Maksar District with the cost of YR 7 billion and the the third phase covers districts of Sheikh Othman, Dar Sa'ad, Buraiqa and Mansoura with the cost of YR. 7 billion.

"We commenced the first phase of laying foundations of building and reconstruction, which will not end only by finalizing constructing the destruction of the war and I congratulate All Adeni people for kicking off reconstruction which is like reviving the soul of Aden," said Governor al-Muflilhi after the signing.

He added, we will not finish our duty by reconstruction but we will proceed with building the human being as having qualified cadre is a prime supporter for the development.

He thanked countries of the Arab Coalition for their support to Yemen in war and peace and in better and worse times, confirming that Aden will witness progress in different domains.
