Riyadh (Saba)- Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Abdul-Malik al-Mikhlafi on Sunday contacted Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Abdul-Latif al-Zayani, stressing the importance of roles played by the GCC States in ensuring Yemen's security, stability, unity and sovereignty.
For his part, Al-Zayani called to support Yemen's legitimacy, restore the state authority, ensure security and stability in all Yemeni areas in order to implement the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference which tackled different issues of Yemen, including the southern one.
He also underscored the importance of addressing this southern issue through the Yemeni legitimacy and consensus which was reached in the National Dialogue Conference.
He reiterated the GCC's support to the UN's efforts aiming at reaching a reconciliation in accordance with the GCC-mediated Initiative, its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and the UN Resolution 2216.
Al-Mikhlafi also contacted Secretary General of the Arab League Ahmed Abu al-Ghait, the Arab League's full support to the Yemeni people in confronting the Houthi-Saleh militias which serve foreign agenda.
Abu al-Ghait asserted that the priorities have to be be given to confront outlaw groups in Yemen and to reach a comprehensive reconciliation on the basis of the basic terms of reference which include the GCC Initiative.
The foreign minister also had a phone contact with Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yusuf al-Othaimeen, commending the OIC's positions supporting Yemen and its legitimate government led by President Abdo Rabbu Mansur Hadi.
For his part, al-Othaimeen reaffirmed that the OIC will continue supporting the Yemeni legitimate government in line of the OIC's
decisions, urging all Yemeni parties to stand by Yemen's legitimacy and renounce divisions.
The foreign minister also phoned the UN Envoy Esmail Ould Cheikh, underlining the importance of committing to the basic terms of reference by the Houthi-Saleh militias.
For his part, the UN Envoy spoke about the UN new proposal for reaching a solution in Yemen, emphasizing that the United Nations stands by Yemen and assist it to restore security, stability and peace.
