Yemen participated on Monday in the Second International Conference on Combating Discrimination Against Islam and Muslims, hosted by the League of Arab States under the theme "Muslim Communities in the West and Their Role in Countering Islamophobia."

The Yemeni delegation was headed by Abdulmalik Dahhan, Chargé d'Affaires of Yemen's Permanent Mission to the Arab League.

The conference brought together representatives of Arab states, regional and international organizations, and specialists to examine ways to strengthen international cooperation in addressing the rise of Islamophobia, anti-Muslim discrimination, and religiously motivated hate speech.

Discussions also highlighted the contribution of Muslim communities in Western countries to promoting coexistence, encouraging dialogue among cultures and religions, and countering extremism and racial discrimination.

Participants called for broader educational, media, and public awareness initiatives to foster tolerance, respect for diversity, and mutual understanding. They also stressed the importance of supporting efforts to combat hate speech and incitement based on religion or belief.

The conference reaffirmed that Islam is a faith rooted in peace, tolerance, moderation, and respect for human dignity.
