The Masam Project for Landmine Clearance in Yemen, through its Team 37, has successfully removed 180 anti-tank landmines and three improvised explosive devices (IEDs) during recent survey and clearance operations.

The team also cleared 300,000 square meters of agricultural land north of Midi District in Hajjah Governorate.

According to a statement released by Masam's Media Office, the operation was carried out in farmland adjacent to villages inhabited by civilians.

It forms part of a series of ongoing humanitarian demining operations aimed at restoring hope for farmers and enabling them to safely return to their land and resume their daily agricultural activities in a more secure environment.

According to statistics issued by the Masam Project, its teams have, since the beginning of operations in Midi District, removed 10,622 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and explosive devices.

In addition, they have cleared a total of 3,662,206 square meters of land, significantly improving safety for local communities and supporting the restoration of agricultural livelihoods.
