Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Tariq Saleh held talks on Sunday with Minister of Transport Mohsen Haidara Al-Omari on strengthening the transport sector and revitalizing key infrastructure along Yemen’s western coast, particularly Mokha International Airport and Port of Mokha.

The meeting, attended by Taiz Governor Nabil Shamsan and Member of Parliament Sheikh Nasser Bajil, focused on the necessary steps to reschedule flights to and from Mokha International Airport at the earliest possible time, and to address challenges hindering the regularity of air traffic through this vital hub.

During the meeting, Saleh was briefed by the transport minister on progress in rehabilitation and development projects at Mokha Port, along with plans to enhance its operational efficiency and expand its capacity, in a way that supports commercial activity and serves liberated areas.

For his part, Minister Al-Omari affirmed the ministry’s commitment to activating transport facilities along the western coast and making optimal use of their readiness, praising the progress achieved in infrastructure, particularly in road networks, the airport, and the port.
